Türkiye'de pek çok arıcının yaptığı gibi geçen hafta bizde arıcı arkadaşlarımızla İstanbul Arıcılık Fuarı'na gittik.
As many beekeepers did, together with our friends we went to İstanbul Beekeeping Fair.
This is the first time im visiting this fair. Last year i was in Kars, though i wanted it so much it was impossible.

As time passes, people start to arrive to the mosque for mornin prayers.

The old historical madrasa bulilding, in whose garden we had breakfast, now serves as a facility for cultural meetings.
We intend to have a picture taken, but anyone who saw us wanted to join.
We arrive at Feshane. (Feshane, which once up on a time Ottoman Empire used to manufacture fes, now serves as an exhibition center. It is right next to Golden Horn. )
A truck drives our attention but only in the afternoon we were able to watch the demonstration.
Almost all members of our group start visiting the stands.

Tigem ! A state owned farm, started beekeeping and honey production as a result ! Wouldn't it be better if the state only raised sufficent number of queens and provided queens at reasonable prices, and gave more importance to beekeeper training activities?

Pollen dryer ovens... we made a pollen oven last year, the cost was really reasonable. But since these were made of stainless steel, their price is really high.
We visited Mehmet Gençünal's stand as well.

In the following hours Engin, my friend from my military service, came to see me.
As time passed, it started to become more crowded.
There was cream honey among the honey of this year but i don't know how many people bought it. It has always been difficult to introduce new products to market.

A different desing but how practical it is, is discussable.
We went out and i had the chance to examine this system. It didn't seem so practical to me. I guess it is expensive as well.
The sea planes that started their flights recently - They fly from Golden Horn to Mudanya and of course back. Now Bursa is more closer to İstanbul.
We put all our bags to the bus' trunk
In 15 minutes we are in Eminonu Square.
I'm waiting for Kadir, one of my best friends, next to Ahi Celebi Mosque.
Then we move to Sultan Ahmet Square. The Blue Mosque.
And Hagia Sophia, built as a church, served as a mosque, now a museum.

As the beekeepers gather and we start waiting for the bus.
We are again on the way back. I would like to thank all the friends meeting us in İstanbul and offering us their friendship and hospitality.
