Yaraları sarmak / Healing the wounds

Halk Eğitim Merkezi'nde verdiğim bir İngilizce kursunun daha sonuna geldik. (29 Nisan 2012) Bu kursta da yeni insanlar tanıdık, çevremiz biraz daha genişledi ve uzun sürmesi muhtemel arkadaşlıklara yelken açtık.

I have been teaching English to adults in Public Education Center, a kind of state owned night school and it is the end of another course (29 April 2012) I have met new people and we started new friendship, that may probably last life long.

Dün en iyi arkadaşım ve aynı zamanda da meslektaşım olan Hüseyin gözünden amelyat oldu. Ben de ona refakat ettim.Şuan durumu daha iyiymiş.
Yesterday, Huseyin, my best friend and at the same time my colleague, had an operation from his eye. He asked me to escort him during and after the operation and i did. I called him today and he said that he is better now.

Onun amelyatından sonra Bursa'nın duayen arıcılarından Sebahattin Ağabey'le buluştuk.Bizi çıkma keresteleri ucuza temin edebileceğimiz bir hurdalığa götürdü.
After his eye operation we met with Sebahattin Yılmaz, a leading beekeeping master in Bursa. He took us to a junkyard where second hand wood can be found.

Burada her boy ve kaliteden çıkma kereste var. Özellikle otomobil parçalarının nakil ambalajlarından gelen keresteler çok güzel, kuru. Çam, kayın gibi kaliteli ağaçlar var ve fiyatları da makul. İhtiyacınız olan arıcılık malzemelerini çok ucuza mal edebilirsiniz.
In the junkyard there is any kind of wood of any quality. The wood which was used to carry car spare parts were very nice, it wasvery dry. High quality wood such as pine, beech can be bought at reasonable price and beekeeping equipments (frames, hive part,...etc.) can be made at low costs.

İşe yarayacak o kadar çok malzeme var ki gez gez bitmez, hatta bir ara kendimi oyuncakçı dükkanına girmiş çocuk gibi hssettim. Cebinizde paranız olacak ve birde buraya kamyonetle geleceksiniz. İhtiyacınız olan malzemeyi sarıp gideceksiniz. Bu kadar basit.
There were so many stuff that it would take long hours to examine every pile of wood. For some time i felt myself like a child in a toys shops. One should have enoguh money with him and should come here with a pick up. He should choose the wood needed, load it on the pick up and drive away. It is as simple as that.

  

 Neyse işimiz çok, arabada bekleyen hastamız var, ihtiyaçlarımızı alıp gidiyoruz. Artık yerini öğrendik ya, bundan sonra sık sık uğrarız.
Anyway we have lots of things to do and my best friend is waiting me in the car. We learned the location of the junkyard, we will visit it more often in the future.

Dün gece çok yağmur yağdı fakat bu sabah güneşli bir güne uyandık. Öğlen arılara gittim.
Last night it rained a lot but today we woke up to a sunny morning. In the afternoon i drove to my apiary.

Hava çok güzel ve ılıktı.
The weather was very nice and mild.

Çiçekler arılığın girişini iyice kaplamış.
The flowers covered he entrance of the apiary.

Ağır geçen kıştan sonra, kalan bir kaç kovanımızın önünde arı görmek güzel.
After such a cold winter, it is nice to see bees in front of the few hives, that survived the harsh winter.

 Azda olsa polen geliyor. Dün gece yağan sağnak yağmur çiçeklerdeki polenleri yıkamış olmalı.
The pollen coming was not so much. Last night's shower must have washed away flowers.

Her ne kadar çerçeveleri arası daha kalabalık gibi dursada koloniler hala zayıf. Tüketebilenlere besleme yaptık. Durum hiç hoşuma gitmiyor ama yapılabilecek çokda birşey yok.
No matter how crowded they seem the colonies are still weak. I fed the colobies. I don't like the present situation but there is so not many things that can be done.

I wanted to try my new camera's macro capabilities. A few closely taken bee photos.

 

Bir zamanlar 52 koloninin bulunduğu arılık. Ne yazık ki şimdi sedece 9 tane... İnşallah bu yaz çoğaltırız.
Once i used to have 52 colonies here, but unfortunately now only 9 left... i hope the will breed this summer.
