Başlıksız.../ No title...

Bu blog kayıt sayfasınadaki "Başlık" yazma seçeneğine de ayar olmaya başladım... bazen insanın sadece yazası geliyor, illa ki herşeye bir başlık atmak zorunda mıyım?

I started to get angry for the "Title" tab of the new post in blogspot.... sometimes i just want to write, do i have to write title to everypost i send?

Ayı Saldırısı / A Bear Attack

Yalavo Güneyköy'den ağabeyimiz Kenan Gişan'ın arılarına geçtiğimiz günlerde bir ayı saldırısı olmuş... bir miktar hasar söz konusu. Kendisine geçmiş olsun diyorum,....  elektrikli çitle tedbir almış, umarım bir daha tekrar etmez diyorum...

Kenan Gişan, a beekeeper from Guneykoy Yalova, had a bear attack to his hives.... the hives had some damage. After the incident he had taken precautions against the bears by electric fence.... i hope the bear(s) won't repeat it again.

Önceki çitte ayının açtığı gedikler.... / The breaches opened by the bear in the previous fence...

Ve ayının yaptığı hasar... / And the damage the bear caused...

Yeni elektrikli çit.... / The new electric fence...

Kenelere Dikkat ! / Be aware of the Ticks !

20 Mayıs Pazar günü arılarımın bulunduğu Çeşnigir Köyü'ne gittim. Hava biraz yağışlı olmasına rağmen Kutlu Doğum Haftası nedeniyle köyde bir yemek verilmiş ve katılım hiç de fena değilmiş.

On 20th May Sunday i went to Çeşnigir Village, where my apiary is. Though it was rainy the birthday of our prophet was celebrated with a small feast and the participation was quite much.

 Bu da benim payım düşen... / This was my share...

 

Çeşnigir eski bir Rum köyü,.... mübadeleden sonra Langaza (Yunanistan)'dan göçmenler gelmiş.
Çeşnigir is an old Rhum Village... after the exchange between Turkey and Greece, emigrants from Langatas (Greece) settled to this village.

 

Köye gelmişken uzun süredir görmediğim bir kaç arkadaşımı da gördüm.

As i came to the village, i saw some old friedns that i haven't seen so far.

 

Köyün baktığı vadiden bir manzara... / A scenery from the valley which the village is situated next to...

Köyden ayrılar Rum sakinlerden kalma çeşme... küresel ısınmayla birlikte artık o da kurumuş...
Fountain, once built by the Rhum residents of the village.... with the global warming it is now dried up...

Bu da çeşmenin kitabesi... Bloğumu ziyaret eden Yunanlı arkadaşlar ne yazdığını rica etsem çevirebilirler mi acaba?
This is the inscription of the fountain.... If Greek visitors of my blog can translate this inscription for me, i will appreciate it very much.

Yemekten sonra arılığıma gittim. / After the lunch i went to my apiary.

Otlar arılıkta o kadar fazla büyüdüler ki artık arılıkta çalışmak neredeyse imkansız.
The herbs in the apiary have grown up so much that it is almost impossible for me to work.

Bu sefer yanımda motorlu tırpanımı getirdim. (Castor 550)
This time i brought my string trimmer with me. (Castor 550)

Yarım saat sonra.... Bu hali çok daha iyi... / After half an hour.... This is much better...

Dinlenirken biraz etrafı gözledim.... / As i was taking a rest i observed the environment....

Karaçalılar (Paliurus spinosa) açmaya başlamış. / Garland Thorns (Paliurus spinosa) have started to blossom.

Bu tırtıllar yılın bu aylarında hep ortaya çıkıyorlar ve meşelerin yapraklarını yiyerek büyümelerini engelliyorlar. Yapraklar bitince de ortadan kayboluyorlar.
These caterpillars appear at this time of the year and eat the leaves of the oak trees, which prevents them from growing more. And when the leaves finish, they disappear.

Bu da arılığımın bir kenarında açan ve çok kötü kokan bir çiçek.... adını bilmiyorum.
This an other flower which blossoms in my apiary every year and it smells very bad... i don't know its name.

Çevreyi izlemek güzeldi fakat sonra tehlikeli bir şey gördüm.... keneler, kış uykusundan uyanmışlar ve çok açlar... eğer hiç tedbir almazsak, keneler çok ölümcül olabilir.
Observing the environment was good but later i observed something dangerous,... ticks,... they have woken up from hibernation and they were very hungry... if we don't take any precautions, ticks may sometimes be lethal.

21 Mayıs Pazartesi / 21st May Monday

Pazartesi öğleden sonra arıcı arkadaşım Mehmet Demir'in arılığına gittim.
On Monday afternoon i visited Mehmet Demir, a beekeeping friend, in his apiary.

Arılığa gider gitmez bir oğul karşıladı bizi.
As soon as we arrived to the apiary a swarm met us.

 Büyük sayılabilecek bir oğuldu. / The swarm could be defined as big.

Operasyon tamamdır, doğru sandığa.... / The operation is done, ... the swarm was sent to the hive....

Bu arada yemek hazır... / Meanwhile the dinner was ready...

Akşam yemeğinde tavuk kapama vardı. / The evening dinner was chicken in metal box.

Tavuklar ayçiçekyağı tenekelerinin altına kapandı.... / The chickens were put under sunflower oil cans.

 İlhan Hocam ateşi yaktı. / The fire was ignited by Ilhan.

Sonra Tepecik'ten Mustafa Ay pişirme işini devraldı. / The Mustafa Ay, from Tepecik, took over the cooking.

Ağabeylerimz geldi, incelemelerde bulundular. / Friends joined us and they examined some frames.

İlerleyen dakikalarda Erkan Türkey'de aramıza katıldı. / In thefollowing minutes Erkan Türkey joined us

Artık yemek zamanı... / Time for dinner.....

Çok lezzetli görünüyor... / seems so delicious....

Biraz politika / Little bit politics

Hükümet ve sendikalar arasındaki maaş zammı uzlaşmazlıkla sonuçlandı, bu yüzden bir günlük (23 Mayıs) iş bırakma eylemi vardı.
The negotiations between the governement and the unions for the raise in salaries ended with disagreement, so we were on strike for one day (23rd May) country wide.

Kalabalık sayılırdı,... ve tabi bizde ordaydık...
It was crowded and we were there of course....

Aynı gün akşam iptal edilen 19 Mayıs törenlerine tepki yürüyüşü vardı. Ona da icap ettik.
The same evening there was a protest against the cancelled 19th May Youths' Day Celebrations. We participated that protest too.

Bonus Koloni - 25 Mayıs Cuma / The Bonus Colony - 25th May Friday
Bundan bir süre önce bazı hurda petekleri depo olarak kullandığım eski evin bahçesine koymuştum. Dün yanından geçerken yanlışlıkla çarptığım kovandan çok fazla arı çıktığını gördüm. Bir baktım ki nereden geldiğini bilmediğim bir oğul gelip girmiş.Bonus bir koloni yani.... :-) arı filomuz bir tane daha arttı.

Some time ago, i put some junk comb in an empty hive and put them to the garden of the house which i use a warehouse. Yesterday, as i was passing by the hive i hit it by mistake. I saw that too many bees came out. I recognized that a swarm came and started a colonoy. A bonus colony.... :-) number of my hives increased one more.
